Front panels, graphic overlays and die-cut parts

Control panel with a graphic overlay, reference image

Front panels, graphic overlays and die-cut parts are components built into a device or a machine: the printed film that forms the visible face of the control panel, polycarbonate or polyester overlays with windows and embossed domes, membrane keypads, surface protection films and masking discs for painting and soldering. All of them are made to order from a drawing and fixed with adhesive on the back.

This category has its own product page for the screen-printed graphic overlay in PC or PET. The other types are quoted on request, with your drawing, material and operating environment: cleaning agents, UV radiation, temperature and contact with hands.

Typical sectors are electronics and instrumentation, machinery and industrial control, household appliances and the automotive industry. The graphic content and its legal use are defined by the customer. Made or sourced to your specification.

In short

What it is: Screen-printed overlays, membrane keypads, technical films and die-cut parts.

What we need to quote: Drawing in DXF or AI, with dimensions and the position of windows and domes; Reference colours (Pantone or RAL); Substrate it will be fixed to: material and finish of the housing or panel.

Scope to check: A membrane keypad is an electronic component, not a finished device: the conformity of the final equipment (electromagnetic compatibility, RoHS or other applicable rules) rests with its production partner, who may ask for material declarations and batch consistency.

Which type fits your case

Screen-printed graphic overlays (adhesive front films) in PC or PETBest for: Machinery and industrial control. · Check: The production partner provides datasheets and test reports on request.

Types and materials

Other types on request

One line per type. For any of them, request a quote with your drawing, housing material and operating environment.

  • PC or PET equipment front panels — Plastic front panel carrying the model, brand, rated values and operating symbols, often with a clear window and embossed domes; fixed with adhesive on the back.Request a quote
  • Membrane keypads and switches with printed circuit — Multilayer structure: graphic overlay, spacer and printed circuit in silver or carbon ink (PET or FPC tail), with optional metal or polymer domes, LED backlighting and EMI shielding. It is an electronic component with its own regulatory notices (see the scope notice).Request a quote
  • Surface protection film — Self-adhesive PE or PP film, removable without residue, on a roll or die-cut, that protects metal sheets, plastic panels, displays and housings from scratches during transport and processing.Request a quote
  • High-temperature masking discs and labels — They cover holes, threads, contacts or markings during painting, powder coating, electrophoretic coating or PCB soldering, and are removed afterwards without leaving adhesive residue.Request a quote
  • Labels and overlays for industrial keys and keyboards — Wear-resistant identification for dedicated keyboards and consoles: screen printing on PVC or PET, raised key overlays and keyboard panel overlays, also multilingual.Request a quote
  • Custom ESD and cleanroom labels — Barcode, numbering and logo on dissipative or antistatic material for PCBs, trays, reels and cleanroom packaging; the polyimide (PI) version is intended for reflow soldering. Antistatic performance is confirmed against the datasheet of the proposed material.Request a quote
  • ESD warning labels and printable dissipative labels — Two subtypes: yellow ESD warning labels for sensitive-component packaging, equipment and entrances to protected areas (EPA), and dissipative labels printable by thermal transfer with barcode or numbering.Request a quote

Scope and regulatory notice

A membrane keypad is an electronic component, not a finished device: the conformity of the final equipment (electromagnetic compatibility, RoHS or other applicable rules) rests with its production partner, who may ask for material declarations and batch consistency. These types are offered on request only, with a drawing and the equipment requirements.

Front panels are not offered for emergency-stop devices or other safety functions, nor for medical-device housings. The graphic content is defined by the customer.

Frequently asked questions

What is a screen-printed overlay and what is it used for in equipment?

It is the printed film that forms the outer face of a device's control panel: it carries the graphics, symbols and text, can have clear windows for displays and embossed domes on the keys, and is fixed to the housing with adhesive on the back. It contains no electrical circuit.

How is a membrane keypad built?

It is a multilayer structure: a graphic overlay, a spacer and a printed circuit in silver or carbon ink, with metal or polymer domes, LED backlighting and EMI shielding as options. It is an electronic component: it is offered on request only and the conformity of the final equipment rests with its production partner.

Which face material is used: polycarbonate or polyester?

Both are used, with PMMA as an option. The choice depends on the equipment, the finish and the operating environment (cleaning agents, UV radiation, temperature): tell us these details and we will propose a material. Thickness is defined from the drawing.

Can windows, embossed domes and backlighting be included?

Yes: clear or matt windows, local embossed domes and backlight windows, as well as adhesives for low-surface-energy substrates. Everything is defined in the drawing.

Need a front panel overlay or a die-cut part?

Send the drawing, the housing material and the operating environment. Business orders only (B2B). Lead time and price are confirmed in the offer.
