VOID labels and tamper-evident seals

Cardboard box with a VOID label, reference image

VOID labels and tamper-evident seals leave a visible sign when someone peels a label, opens a box or breaks a closure. They are used to seal boxes, equipment and packaging and to detect unauthorized opening, and they need neither a reader nor a connection to any system.

This category covers VOID labels with and without residue, ultra-destructible labels, security tape and tamper-evident security bags. We work to order: you define the size, material, colour, logo, warning text and, if needed, numbering or a QR code.

We serve business customers only. Datasheets, test reports, samples and material sample cards are available on request, and lead time and price are confirmed in the offer.

A security label gives visible evidence of opening, but it does not prevent the attempt: its value depends on someone inspecting it and on a clear procedure of use. If you are unsure which type suits you, describe the surface and the use and we will guide you.

In short

What it is: VOID and destructible labels and security tapes that show evidence of opening.

What we need to quote: Surface it will be applied to (carton, PE bag, metal, plastic) and conditions of use; Size, shape and type of label or tape; Quantity per order and annual usage.

Which type fits your case

Residue-type VOIDThe proof must remain on the surface: boxes, equipment, seals.
Non-residue VOIDThe surface must stay clean: polished metal, painted equipment, glass, documents.
Eggshell / ultra-destructibleThe label must break on peeling: one-time seals, cartons, components.
Printed tamper-evident tapeCarton sealing; VOID/OPENED visible when the box is opened.

Types and materials

These are the types with their own page. Open each one for materials, options and the data needed for a quote.

Custom residue-type VOID labels

When peeled, they leave the word VOID or OPENED on the surface, with full or partial transfer, and the label itself also shows the sign of opening. They are customized with logo, numbering and QR code and die-cut to the customer's size.

Non-residue VOID label peeled from a smooth surface, leaving it clean and unmarked

Custom non-residue VOID labels

The label itself shows VOID when removed, and the surface is left unmarked and free of adhesive residue. It is the option for surfaces that must not be marked, and it accepts a logo, numbering and QR code.

Custom ultra-destructible labels

They are made of a very fragile material and break into small pieces when someone tries to peel them, which makes it difficult to remove them whole or re-apply them. They accept a logo, numbering and QR code and can be combined with VOID or holographic layers.

Frequently asked questions

What are VOID labels?

They are labels that, when removed, leave a visible message (VOID, OPENED, another text or a logo) as evidence of an attempt to tamper. According to the EUIPO anti-counterfeiting technology guide, the message stays invisible until the label is removed, and no reader or server connection is needed.

Residue or non-residue VOID label: which should I choose?

Residue (transfer) if the sign must also remain on the surface; non-residue if the surface must not be marked. With the surface, the conditions of use and the quantity, we will propose the right option.

How do VOID labels differ from ultra-destructible labels?

VOID labels leave a message when removed; ultra-destructible labels are made of a material so fragile that they break into pieces when peeled. According to the EUIPO, the more fragile the label, the greater its effectiveness, but also the harder it is to handle and apply.

Does a security label prevent tampering?

No, it does not prevent it: it makes an attempt to open or remove it visible. Its usefulness depends on someone inspecting it and on a clear procedure of use.

Can I number the labels or add a QR code?

Yes. They can carry a serial number and a QR or DataMatrix code; from your Excel or CSV sheet we prepare the variable-data file for the factory.
