Durable nameplates and identification labels

Metal gears with a nameplate, reference image

Plates in stainless steel, anodized aluminium or brass, and polyester labels with engraved, printed or serialized data, to identify machines, equipment and assets durably. The data can be text, serial number, barcode, QR or DataMatrix, and the content is supplied by the customer.

Six types have their own page: anodized aluminium nameplates, metal asset tags with QR or DataMatrix, serialized tamper-evident polyester labels, CE and rating plates, stainless steel nameplates and polyester rating-plate labels. Other formats, such as valve tags, brass plates or photosensitive anodized aluminium, are quoted on request.

Made or sourced to your specification, with the customer's design and data. The content of a rating plate is defined by the equipment production partner; we reproduce the artwork they have approved and signed. Typical uses are the identification of machines, IT assets, valves and cables. If you already have a vector file or a table of serial numbers, attach it to your enquiry.

In short

What it is: CE and rating plates, metal or polyester asset labels, with engraving and QR codes.

What we need to quote: Vector file of the design (AI, PDF or DXF); Material, thickness and dimensions; Fixing: holes, adhesive or rivets.

Scope to check: The content of the plate is defined by the customer, as the equipment production partner; we reproduce the artwork the customer has approved and signed.

Which type fits your case

Other types on request

One line per format. For any of them, request a quote stating the design, material and quantity.

  • Standard CE and rating plates — With the CE mark or with pre-printed model and serial number fields, to fill in by hand or attach.Request a quote
  • Blank stainless steel plates and tags — Corrosion-resistant blank plates, to be engraved or stamped later.Request a quote
  • Blank outdoor nameplates — Base plates for outdoor identification, resistant to UV and salt spray.Request a quote
  • Custom outdoor nameplates (aluminium or stainless steel) — Permanent identification outdoors, in marine environments or photovoltaic installations, resistant to UV and salt spray.Request a quote
  • Photosensitive anodized aluminium (stock and ready-made plates) — The image is formed inside the anodic layer and sealed: it resists wear, chemicals and weather.Request a quote
  • Custom photo-anodized aluminium nameplates — Image, barcode or serial number sealed in the anodic layer, resistant to wear, chemicals and outdoor ageing.Request a quote
  • Custom cable tags — Stamped or engraved metal identification tags numbered in series, supplied in sets by cable number.Request a quote
  • Metal asset tags (blank or numbered) — Numbering plates for equipment and tools, from the standard range and without customization.Request a quote
  • Valve tags (blank or pre-stamped) — Hung on the valve to show its number or the fluid.Request a quote
  • Custom engraved valve tags — Engraved with the customer's number, fluid and flow direction, in laminated plastic or metal, often with a hole and chain.Request a quote
  • Blank anodized aluminium plates — Wear- and corrosion-resistant base plates to identify equipment.Request a quote
  • Blank brass plates — Blank plates for stamping or engraving, also used as valve tags.Request a quote
  • Custom brass nameplates — Engraved or chemically etched brass, both decorative and a durable means of identification.Request a quote
  • Laser-markable labels (blank stock) — Blank polyimide that the buyer marks with their own laser: the surface layer is removed to reveal the base, with no ribbon or ink; it resists heat and chemicals.Request a quote
  • Custom die-cut laser-markable labels — Die-cut to drawing and dual-layer, for in-line laser marking of asset numbers and QR codes.Request a quote
  • Polyester asset labels (blank or pre-printed) — Self-adhesive silver or white PET labels, thermal-transfer printed, resistant to chemicals and weather.Request a quote
  • Polyester rating-plate labels (standard) — Adhesive silver or white PET labels that replace the metal plate for model, rated values, CE marking and serial number.Request a quote

Applications by sector

  • Automotive and machinery: Makers of pumps, valves, compressors, HVAC, motors and electrical switchgear; vehicles and transport equipment (non-statutory plates).
  • Electronics and IT: Electrical equipment, panels and automation; IT assets and infrastructure, including data centres.
  • Energy and renewables: Energy and water equipment, maintenance; battery packs and storage cabinets (the plate is the carrier and the content is the customer's).
  • Metal, foundry and steel: Heavy industry and makers of metal products: aluminium, stainless steel or brass plates with laser or chemical engraving.

Scope and responsibility for content

The content of the plate is defined by the customer, as the equipment production partner; we reproduce the artwork the customer has approved and signed. Data plates for equipment under Directive 2014/68/EU (pressure equipment) or Directive 2014/34/EU (explosive atmospheres) are not accepted, because of their safety nature.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the right material for a nameplate?

It depends on the environment. Anodized aluminium (silver, black or colour) takes laser engraving, screen printing or chemical etching; 304 or 316 stainless steel resists corrosion and chemicals; brass adds decorative value; and a polyester label replaces the plate when an adhesive solution is enough. Tell us whether it will be outdoors, in contact with chemicals or in a marine environment.

What information goes on a CE rating plate?

It usually includes model, year, serial number, production partner details and CE marking. The equipment production partner defines them under the rules that apply to it (for example Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 on machinery or Directive 2014/35/EU on low voltage); we reproduce the signed artwork.

Can plates be numbered and linked to a verification page?

Yes: sequential serial numbers, barcodes, QR or DataMatrix and a file with the serials. The scope of the online verification page is defined in the enquiry.

Do you accept plates for pressure equipment or explosive atmospheres?

No. Data plates for equipment under Directive 2014/68/EU (pressure equipment) or Directive 2014/34/EU (explosive atmospheres) are not accepted, because of their safety nature.
