RFID/NFC wristbands and labels combined with RFID contain a chip and an antenna. The rules usually consulted include Directive 2014/53/EU (RED), Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS) and Directive 2012/19/EU (WEEE). Their scope for these pieces is open to different interpretations and the obligations depend on the final product; the customer assesses them with their own adviser.
For anti-theft labels, the customer confirms the frequency (RF or AM) and the compatibility with their equipment. If wristbands are linked to personal data, such as tickets or payments, the processing of that data (GDPR) rests with the organizer or the ticketing company. Scratch-off cards and labels are for promotional use and the rules governing the promotion rest with the customer.
